I will pass on a recommendation I received for a delightful little hotel in Sussex.

I was fortunate to stay there myself on a visit to the English south coast – and both the welcome and the food would put many an international hotel chain to shame.

Only 8 bedrooms (with flatscreen tv’s  and en-suite bath/ showers),  “The Olde Forge Hotel and Restaurant” is spotlessly clean and the food is outstanding – I hadn’t realised until after I’d stayed that the hotel is listed in the Michelin guide! You can just  eat in the beuatifully beamed restaurant or you can eat and stay.

It’s a husband and wife team, Philip and Nicky, who do everything themselves – so you know in advance that they will take that extra care of you – and they do. Taking care of a building which has parts over 200 years old must be a real labour of love!
